This stunning classic Mini Cooper is one of the nicest examples we’ve had, and was originally supplied by Tristar Rover, Great Yarmouth on 25th November 1994. Boasting just 36,6** miles from new with the original owner being an older gentleman intensely caring for it and us being the second owners.
Under the bonnet resides the original 1275cc A-series injection engine producing 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Specification highlights for this stunning example include twin spot lamps, 12" Minilite alloy wheels, a leather-bound 'Cooper' steering wheel and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials. Furthermore in December 1994, the Mini was taken to John Cooper Garages in Worthing for aesthetic enhancements including a burr walnut dashboard with inset clock, voltmeter and oil pressure gauges, all of which considerably improve the interior with an air of class whilst still maintaining an OEM feel.
This Mini is in exceptional shape and has always been driven sensibly and garage-stored when not in use- a proper enthusiasts car. The annual milage increments have been extremely low, but still driven occasionally on the perfect day with just under 8,000 miles covered in the past ten years.
A really nice feature is the correct body-coloured vented sills being present both sides and in great shape. The Mini's undercarriage is in good condition, with just a few small areas showing its age. Considerable money has been spent on it, from having been waxoyled throughout the years, and a new rear subframe fitted last year.
The cabin is in immaculate condition, reflective of the low mileage and care it’s had. Both the carpet and headlining present as good as the day it left the showroom and the original Rover-branded radio cassette is in fantastic working order. The rear seats seem sparsely used and have surprisingly ample foot room. Having been stored indoors for its whole life the stunning burr walnut dashboard has resisted the fading and discolouration that they so typically succumb to.
It runs like a dream with the 1275cc injection engine pulling well through all four gears, and due to weighing so little is surprisingly nippy. Gear changes are smooth and precise without any crunches, and the clutch has recently been replaced. The brakes and suspension also have a great feel as well, really pushing this car as one of the great drivers cars.
The paint/bodywork is in good condition with the odd blemish and some small areas of bubbling around the front wings, which is extremely common and easily remediated. However for original paint this car really pops on a lovely summers day. The glass, chromework and trim are in excellent order, a real testament to its original owner. The Minilite alloy wheels are in fantastic condition, and the tyres are all in great shape.
The original owner lived in Northern Ireland briefly and the registration subsequently changed to 'XDZ 6294' in 1998 which has been kept to this day.
As you'd expect for a cherished two-owner car, the accompanying history file is exceptional and encompasses a fully-stamped service book as well as comprehensive maintenance records including the original bill of sale. No expense has been spared caring for this Mini, and several major jobs have been carried out from a new rear subframe, new exhaust and a recent clutch.
